MG-WINDSOR
After making its mark with SUVs like the Hector and Gloster, MG Motor India is all set to enter the luxury MPV segment with a brand-new offering — the MG Windsor. This new car is expected to be based on the Maxus G10, which is already available in international markets. With a focus on space, luxury, and technology, Windsor is being seen as MG’s answer to premium MPVs like Toyota Innova Hycross and Kia Carnival.
Here are the major highlights expected in the upcoming Windsor:
Seating Capacity: 7 or 9-seater configurations
Captain Seats: Reclining and ventilated middle-row seats
Dual Sunroof
Premium Leather Upholstery
Powered Sliding Doors
Large Touchscreen Infotainment System
Digital Instrument Cluster
Multiple USB and Type-C Charging Ports
Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
360-Degree Camera
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System)
Automatic Climate Control (Front & Rear)
Ambient Lighting
While MG has not yet officially confirmed the powertrain options, the Windsor is expected to be offered with the following:
2.0L Turbocharged Petrol Engine
Output: Around 220–250 bhp
Transmission: 6-speed Automatic or CVT
A Diesel variant may also be introduced later depending on demand.
Electric or Hybrid variant could be planned for future, considering MG’s focus on green mobility.
MG Windsor will likely be packed with advanced safety technologies, such as:
6 Airbags
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
ABS with EBD
Hill-Hold Assist
Front and Rear Parking Sensors
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts
The interior of the Windsor is expected to feel like a moving lounge. With captain seats, fold-out tables, individual AC vents, and soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, it aims to deliver true first-class comfort. It will be ideal for families, corporate users, and VIP transport services.
The Windsor will have a bold and premium design with:
Large Chrome Grille
LED Headlamps with DRLs
Stylish Alloy Wheels
Sliding Rear Doors
LED Tail Lights
Premium Roof Rails
It will carry a commanding road presence, similar to high-end MPVs already seen in global markets.
The MG Windsor is expected to launch with a starting price of ₹30 lakh, and could go up to ₹40–45 lakh for higher variants. This positions it in direct competition with:
Toyota Innova Hycross (ZX & ZX(O))
Kia Carnival (Upcoming model)
Toyota Vellfire (for top-end Windsor variants)
MG has not officially confirmed a launch date, but reports suggest that the Windsor could debut in India by late 2025 or early 2026. It was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, giving hints that testing and localization are already in progress.
The MG Windsor looks set to shake up the Indian MPV market with its luxury-focused features, spacious interiors, and premium design. For buyers who want something more modern and global than the usual 7-seaters, Windsor could be the perfect option.
Stay tuned for the official launch — MG seems ready to change how India looks at family travel.
